Assistant Accountant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a high achieving Assistant Accountant to join our National Finance Centre at North Ryde. We are seeking a proactive, responsible individual that is keen to get hands on and learn. This is an excellent opportunity for recent Graduate or an individual with limited working experience.Reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager, your main responsibilities will include;Performing financial accounting processes and activities effectively and efficiently. Performing any tasks required to close out the National Centre’s month end process.Preparing monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations and ensuring all outstanding items are followed up and cleared on a timely basis.Responsibility for managing our fixed asset, disposals, transfers and amendmentsProviding support to the business for in respect to our centralised and automated annual fixed asset count process.Providing support to our front line operations in respect to leasing arrangements, including lease accounting.Assisting in compilation of our annual insurance process declaration process.Ensuring all accounting processes comply with Accounting standards, Boral and CMC Accounting Policies.Assisting with project delivery of key projects if so required.Contributing to continuous improvement of processesAssisting and supporting the standardisation of Financial Accounting processesPreparing accurate, timely Financial Accounting reports, quality analysis and advice when required.To be considered for this role, you will:Degree qualified in accounting with limited experienceIntermediate to advanced excel skillsAbility to identify, analyse and interpret large data setsBe an excellent communicator and have the ability to forge strong relationships with stakeholdersBe a team player with a desire to support the team achieve key objectivesHave a willingness and ability to work in a constantly changing environmentHave exposure to a large ERP (advantageous but not essential)If you are interested in applying for this position, please click on the apply now button or visit is an international building products and construction materials group with three strong divisions: the high-performing, well-positioned materials business of Boral Australia; the fast-growing, 50%-owned USG Boral interior linings joint venture in Asia, Australia and the Middle East; and Boral North America, a scaled and growing building products and fly ash business. With its headquarters in Sydney, Australia, Boral had approximately 16,500 full-time equivalent employees (including in JVs) working across over 700 operating sites in 17 countries as at 30 June 2017.
